welcome TO the BSE Senior School
My name is Mr. Derek Jones, I am a UK citizen but I have been working in the International School’s sector since the year 2000. Previous experience has included Head of School positions in Chile; Kenya; Peru and Qatar I also worked for four years as a Head of Physical Education in Argentina.
We strive to continue the good work of the Junior School and we hope to make the transition from the Junior School to Senior School as seamless as possible.
Currently the Senior School has over 380 students from Year 7 – 12 which is an impressive number for a fairly young school. The curriculum is broad and balanced in Key Stage 3 and is based on the National Curriculum of England & Wales. In Key Stage 4, there is a wide subject choice of IGCSE courses, providing students with every opportunity to acquire a suitable range of qualifications.
In Key Stage 5 pupils are required to take additional IGCSE’s plus GCE A levels to acquire the qualifications they need for entry into Egyptian or overseas universities.
Through the hard work and dedication of our teaching staff we hope to not only deliver a purposeful and worthwhile programme but also to develop life skills and values such as hard work, honesty, integrity, courtesy and respect.
As a school we are justifiably proud of our examination results we consistently have pupils receiving awards for highest achiever in a range of subjects.
In addition we recognize the value of a healthy and active lifestyle and as such we are very proud of our sports teams who compete in the competition structure of the Cairo Schools organization with notable success.
